Scientifically accurate artwork by renowned interpretive artist Larry Ormsby depicts the Milky Way over the Chisos Mountains as seen from just west of Panther Junction. On the front is a cheerful-looking Brazillian free-tailed bat, one of the many nocturnal species that benefit from the conservation of dark skies in places like Big Bend.
