This sturdy tote bag features our exclusive “Texas’ Gift to the Nation” artwork, commemorating the unique creation of Big Bend National Park. In the 1930s, Texans decided that the biggest state needed and deserved a national park, and that the nation needed and deserved a Texas park. Over a span of more than 10 years, Texans from all walks of life donated what they could to purchase land to create that park in one of the most spectacular and remote areas of the state, to be given as a gift to the rest of the nation. Big Bend National Park was crowd-funded, long before anyone thought of that term.
The bag is decorated with an artistic impression of the view from Rio Grande Village upriver toward the Chisos Mountains, including all your favorite Big Bend plants as well as a cheeky roadrunner and a soaring red-tailed hawk.
