Updated River and Road Conditions
As of 0815, water levels across the area remain elevated. Terlingua Creek is currently reading 5.83 feet, and while the gauge shows a gradual decline, this volume of water still needs to travel downstream to Santa Elena before levels there begin to noticeably drop. Because of this continued high flow, the river is expected to remain at elevated levels throughout the rest of today and into tomorrow.
Multiple roads remain closed due to flooding, including:
Route 16 (Road to Santa Elena Canyon)
Old Maverick Road
River Road, between Route 12 (to RGV) and Route 15 (to Castolon)
Below is the 0815 river level reference for Terlingua Creek, illustrating current conditions as the system continues to drain toward Santa Elena.
